EEIBA celebrates PowerBall success

Monday, 12 December 2011 08:58

Fundraisers at electrical charity EEIBA are celebrating another successful annual powerBall with an incredible £246,850 being raised on the night, which provided a fun filled evening of entertainment for guests.

Taking place at the Grosvenor House Hotel in Park Lane, London, the glittering event was attended by individuals and companies representing the electrical, electronics and power sectors. Entertainment included a musical spectacle from the cast of the West End hit ‘Dreamboats and Petticoats’ and guests were able to dance the night away to live band Star, followed by a disco.PowerBall

Reflecting the fact it was also Armistice Day, this year’s theme was ‘The Best of British’ and to mark the date the 24th Invicta Rifles marching band played in tribute to the courage and sacrifice of the UK’s fallen war heroes.

Claire Beresford, corporate fundraising manager for EEIBA, said: “Everyone had a fantastic time at this year’s powerBall and it is great that we surpassed last year’s total by more than £4,000. Despite the continuing economic gloom and the fact that people seem to be being squeezed from all sides financially, it is an incredible effort from our supporters.

“I’d like to say a big thank you to everyone involved in the organisation of the event, particularly Richard Birtchnall who is stepping down from his role having done such a brilliant job for us each year. I’d also like to thank all of our sponsors and supporters for attending and making it a real night to remember.”
